Therapy for Trauma
Trauma-focused therapy can help you process past events, develop coping strategies, and improve overall well-being.
Therapy for trauma involves creating a safe and supportive environment where you can explore your thoughts and feelings related to the traumatic event. Through various therapeutic techniques such as exposure, self-compassion, and narrative therapy approaches, you can begin to integrate your experiences.
Learning to live with your trauma can be a challenge and it can also be transformative and freeing, and you won’t have to do it alone.
Therapy offers you a safe and supportive environment to work through difficult emotions and memories.
Techniques such as exposure techniques, somatic approaches, narrative approaches, and mindfulness practices can help you begin to confront your traumatic experiences and reclaim your life. Additionally, we will work together to identify and practice helpful coping strategies to improve your life and health.

I help people working through past traumas by providing a safe space, providing helpful coping practices for managing fear and discomfort, and helping you process your past in a structured and strategic manner.
We will first create a strong foundation of coping skills by helping you increase methods for emotion-regulation, self-soothing, and more. With training in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) for Trauma, Dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT), Prolonged Exposure Therapy (PE), and somatic techniques, trauma therapy can involve:
Recognizing Cues for Distress
Recognizing the triggers for trauma including in thoughts, emotions, behaviors, and also how it is impacting different aspects of life.
Practicing Methods for Soothing/ Coping
There are many methods that can help with the stress related to trauma, from calming the stress response to working with overwhelming thoughts.
Improving Your Quality of Life
By safely processing through past experiences, identifying and working toward important values, you can start to feel better in many areas of your life.
